Config Crawler Repository is not updated via Config Tool

Issue

I’ve run the Crawler Tool (Admin -> Config Crawler -> Crawler Tool) against a device, but I can’t see that device, or the recent device configuration change within the Config Crawler Repository (Tools -> Config Viewer).

Root cause

Manually running a script against a device in the Config Tool doesn't update the Config Crawler repository. The Crawler Tool can be used to test your script prior to scheduling the device in the Crawler settings (Admin -> Config Crawler -> Setting).

Solution

To have configurations added to the device Crawler repository, schedule a device configuration crawl in the Crawler settings (Admin -> Config Crawler -> Setting).
