What to do when you get a discovery failed: no device found issue.

The error could be caused by your endpoint configuration or discover setting.

I am using a Silver Peak device in this example.

The error will look like:

<ip address> no matching rule <snmp MIB info>

  1. Check your endpoint first if it looks like it should, step 2
  2. You may be missing a matching "include" rule in your discovery settings for example:
    • include SNMPv2-MIB.sysDescr <Silver Peak/your device>
  3. Go to Admin-->Discover-->Discover/rewalk and add the above rule with your device info to the "Device match rules" and save changes.
  4. Try and add the device again
