Set AKIPS server to GMT time

Kevin Zhang

Hi,

Question on timestamp on AKIPS, we are global company have support team all over world.  Would like point the NTP server to GMT timestamps.  Is there possibility AKIPS can use the local browser timezone to display the data in local timestamp?

Thanks

+1 request... Better yet, store a per-user timezone setting and let the user change it in the top right menu to any value or lock it to the browser setting.

There is a problematic work-around to do this today in AKIPS: use UTC/GMT for the akips server, create user profiles for each timezone, then assign users based on the timezone. But the challenge of this approach (aside from static timezone assignment) is you can't use the profiles to restrict users based on technology types or device groups (that perhaps represent geographic restrictions or other data slices). Well, if your geographic restrictions align with timezones, you might get away with it. But it is still a static assignment and users might want to view it from different perspectives (e.g. the local timezone of the site they are troubleshooting which might be different from their own or others collaborating on the problem resolution).
